Spring is here in North Carolina, and we could not be any more excited! Some of the real beauty of the state comes out to play in spring, and we are thrilled to get to experience it all once again. With that said, since North Carolina does have a lot to offer in terms of springtime activities, these are the very best “must do” activities and places to visit this spring in the Tar Heel State.
Spring is the time for some awesome music festivals in NC!
When you think of music events, North Carolina may not be first on your mind, but that does not mean there are not some of the best music festivals around here! In April, there is the festival, Dreamville. This was founded by J. Cole, who is actually from North Carolina! It is a great gathering of primarily other hip hop and r&b musicians, such as Drake, Usher, and Ari Lennox! Following Dreamville is MerleFest! Then in May comes Lovin’ Life Music Festival. Some of the biggest names in music will perform, including Post Malone and Stevie Nicks!
Water activities are some of the best in North Carolina!
There are lots of great spots to hit the water in NC! There is the coast where you can hit the Atlantic Ocean in tons of great spots, plus some inland lakes as well. Lake Norman is one of the most popular lakes to visit in the spring in the state. At the beach or the lake, you can surf, paddle board, boat, and so much more!
Baseball season is back everywhere in the spring, and North Carolina is a great state for a game!
Did you know that some of the biggest names in the sport got their start in North Carolina? From Derek Jeter to Miguel Cabrera, tons of players have played on an NC field! Even though there is no major league team, the minor league teams in the state have very enthusiastic and loyal fanbases, and the energy at a game is always electric!

There are a lot of great opportunities to look at the spring flowers in North Carolina. From gorgeous nature walks in which you can see the wildflowers, to stunning botanical gardens, flowers are abundant in the state!
