The new Audi A3 and S3 2022 are scrappy and tenacious vehicles. They possess performance-minded handling and acceleration. Both vehicles are really great to look at and reportedly fantastic to drive. The soon-to-be-releasing RS 3 is coming next summer in 2022.
Audi A3 – Pricing, All-Wheel-Drive, Front-Wheel-Drive
The basic Audi A3 is already at the dealers. It has a $34,945 base price. For the past seven years, the Audi has largely kept the same, basic formula that has existed for the past seven years. Moreover, the 2022 car is available as a sedan in the U.S. In Europe, the continent carries on with the Sportback (hatchback). Also, you can get either the front-wheel-drive or Quattro all-wheel drive.
Automatic Transmission
There is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that carries over both versions. In fact, this time around, there is an important difference. The FWD and AWD models are creating equally with the same power output from Audi’s 2.0-liter turbocharging four-cylinder. Therefore, it was before, the all-wheel-drive model had a massive, 44-horsepower difference. Moreover, instead of just increasing the power to the 228 horses of the old A3 all-wheel-drive. The carmaker did split the difference between the AWD and FWD models. It was with an engine putting out 201 horsepower. Then 221 pound-feet of torque for 2022.
Audi Powertrain, Fuel Economy and Aerodynamics
Audi says it focuses on fuel economy as well as the new A3’s powertrain. Moreover, it does also feature a new 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Then combine the more efficient powertrain with much-improved aerodynamics. In fact, it went from a 0.33 Cd to a 0.26. Thus you are left with a car that is offering about 23% better fuel economy across the board than before. Therefore, the new Quattro does achieve 31 mpg combined. In fact, the outgoing car is only going to muster 25 mpg combined.
